The horn-based band consists of members who have performed together in various musical organizations since the early 1970's. They trace their roots to King's Island, Xavier University, and the University of Cincinnati. The band's repertoire includes a variety of Christmas classics as well as a few surprises. The performance is definitely high energy with a solid musical sound, and even a little choreography thrown into the mix. As described by David Wecker (Cincinnati Post, December 25, 1999), "...Santa's Goody Bag Band is the Rolling Stones of Christmas music. Against all odds, the tunes hang together nicely. The Band Rocks."

Santa's Goody Bag Band now primarily focuses on their annual Christmas Tour of some of the Cincinnati area's favorite taverns and restaurants to raise money for the Shriner's Hospitals for Children and other children's charities.
